Hello! My name is Julia Bradner, and I am the director of New Life Birth Services. I am a certified doula CD(DONA) and certified childbirth educator LCCE, and a birth assistant for out of hospital birth. I am also a certified professional midwife, and hold a Midwifery license in the state of Virginia. I value working with families as well as individuals, to inform, inspire and give hope toward setting and achieving goals for their childbirth experience. I have a passion to communicate resources and information by coming alongside individuals as a doula through pregnancy and delivery. Whether you desire a home birth, hospital or birth center, I am available to assist and support you!

I am a mother of 5, and have been happily married to my husband Matt for over 20 years.  I still reap the benefits I gained from my 5 childbirth experiences, and 2 losses. I believe that gaining knowledge and understanding about childbirth can have a direct positive impact on your childbirth experience, and your entire life.

I have always had an interest in serving people, and pursued my continued education from Elon University in Burlington, North Carolina. There I graduated with honors with my Bachelor in Science, majoring in Exercise Sports Science, and a minor in Spanish. During my schooling, I had the privilege of working alongside a pediatric physical therapist, continuing to pursue my passion to serve individuals.

I have invested myself in a number of professional endeavors. I have worked with a non-profit collegiate organization, Campus Outreach, a group that provides opportunity for spiritual growth as well as leadership training and development. We emphasize mentorship and personal connection as a method for achieving goals. I have been a motivational speaker for multiple women’s events, helping to empower others to learn their unique design, and live out of their unique storyline.  My husband and I travel throughout the country teaching marriage development seminars, as well as MBTI personality typing. I also work as a midwife assistant alongside a CPM and currently teach a childbirth education series called Prep 4 Birth.

In 2009, I began a bi-annual children’s consignment sale called Kidz Kraze. Over the past 10 years, it has continued to grow, and we see thousands of shoppers each sale! Through Kidz Kraze, I am able to connect with the community, and give back. The business supports many local organizations and charities. I have been around childbirth for the last 15 years, and know that being a professional birth worker is not just a hobby, or interest, but a passion. I absolutely adore my family of 7 and love to be outdoors!

I have over 18 years of experience in childbirth and am a certified birth Doula through DONA international. My passion for birth began prior to having my own children. I was invited to attend friends births, and was exposed to the diverse options available to women. This opened my eyes and heart towards the beauty of birth, and stirred my desire to become a birth worker.

My goal is to help women, and inspire them to trust in their ability to birth. I believe that all birth creates the greatest moments and memories of someone’s life.

I value creativity and am also an abstract artist. I've had the opportunity to have my work displayed at various businesses. I have traveled internationally, as well as domestically, to lead art therapy workshops.

I am the proud mother of 3 boys and has been married to her best friend for 23 years.

Hi, I’m Morgan!

Being the third oldest of nine children and attending most of the deliveries of my younger siblings, I had been exposed to birth at a young age and always had a passion for it. When my husband and I became pregnant with our first child we decided to hire a birth doula and that really sealed the deal.  The support I felt from my doula was exactly what I needed and I went into my birth experience feeling empowered and prepared. I wanted the doula’s job!

I am now a certified birth doula, have a wonderful supportive husband, and four beautiful children. My next goals are to become a trauma-informed professional and to learn how to encapsulate placentas!

When I’m not immersed in the birth world, I enjoy planning my next vacation, tending to the house plants I have [roughly 100], hanging out with all my extended family, and taking ballet classes.

What a gift birthwork is and I am so honored to be apart of every story I am invited into.

Hi! I’m Jenny!

I became a doula in 2017 and received my certification through DONA International. Even though I graduated with a degree in communications, I quickly realized my hearts passion was in labor and delivery.

Desiring to learn more about the birth experience, I studied and was among one of the first individuals to become certified as a Spinning Babies Parent educator. This experience gave me the knowledge and resources to better assist my clients in their own birth experiences.

In 2019, while my husband and I lived in Puerto Rico, I became pregnant! Benaiah Rico was born in August of 2020, in our home, surrounded by the same midwives I had the privilege of working alongside while we lived there. It was an incredibly empowering experience that has also helped me to become a better doula in so many ways! As your doula, it is my job to protect and nurture your memory of birth. This is a very special day in your life and how you remember the experience can depend on the respect, support, and nurturing you receive during labor and birth.

Hey there, I’m Carrie!
I first became interested in birth work after the birth of my son, Kaia, 5 years ago. After giving birth in the hospital I decided to try something different and birth at home with a midwife and doula. When I learned I was pregnant with my daughter, Ayla, I hired NLDS and had the honor of having Sunshine as my doula. My entire pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience was so vastly different than my first. I really didn’t realize the support I was missing until I had it.
Exactly one year postpartum I began my journey to become a certified doula through DONA international. In addition to required training, I completed an apprenticeship with NLDS. During this time I had the privilege of training under the guidance of four amazing and seasoned doulas. Although I am the newest member to NLDS, I believe that what I lack in years of experience I make up for in enthusiasm, passion, and intuition.
My greatest desire as a doula is to support families and help them find their voice during the birthing process. Regardless of how or where you decide to have your baby, I believe that birth can be an empowering experience!
